Photography enthusiasts from the Swan Valley and across Perth are welcome to the Ellenbrook Camera Club. We exist to help one another enjoy and grow in the art of photography, and photographers of all experience levels, from beginners to experienced enthusiasts, will find a place. We’d love to see you at our next meeting!

Is the Ellenbrook Camera Club for Me?

• How to use the functions on your camera?
• The basics, like taking better family snaps?
• Or more advanced topics, like studio lighting and portrait techniques?

Or maybe you’re looking for the opportunity to:

• Grow through regular photographic challenges.
• Compete in friendly competitions with other keen photographers.
• Listen to engaging speakers on a variety of photographic topics.
• Engage with others in photographic outings.

These kinds of activities and more happen throughout the year.

Expensive equipment isn’t necessary and and our members’ gear includes compact cameras to the latest dSLRs. We believe it’s the person, not the camera, that makes the photograph, and we share a desire to learn and grow as photographers.

What Does the Club Do?

• The 2nd Wednesday of the month is usually a workshop or lecture by experienced photographers. You can see what’s coming up in our calendar.
• The 4th Wednesday is our monthly competition. Competitions are judged by an experienced photographic judge or photographer and are a great way to extend yourself.
• Beginning photographers often have gear and photography questions that need a little 'one to one'. We have a help desk staffed by experienced members for this purpose. If you question is hardware related, please bring your manual! 
• We also run a monthly 'Photo Walk' and and annual photographic ‘weekend away’.

A Bit of Background...

The Ellenbrook Photographers Group was formed in 2005 following a successful ‘Artist in Residence’ programme and community exhibition run by the Ellenbrook Cultural Foundation. Based in Ellenbrook, it attracts members from across Perth.
